Deleting your data
You can have everything Santua holds about you deleted, at any time, without giving a reason. Under the GDPR this is your right to erasure (Article 17), and it does not depend on how your details reached us.
Write to us
Send one message to hello@santua.ai from the email address you gave, or naming the phone number you gave, and say that you want your data deleted. If you remember which school you contacted, telling us saves a step; if you do not, we will find you.
We confirm within 7 days and delete within 30, which is inside the one month the GDPR allows. We do not ask you to justify the request and we do not try to talk you out of it.
If you filled in a form on Facebook or Instagram
A school that advertises on Facebook or Instagram can connect its Page to Santua, so that when you fill in one of its enquiry forms your answers reach the school inside Santua instead of sitting in an export nobody reads. What we receive is exactly what you typed into that form: your name, and whichever of email address, phone number and answers to the school's own questions the form asked for. We also store the identifiers Meta sends with it, so the school knows which advert you came from.
For this data the school is the data controller and Santua is its processor. Deleting it removes the enquiry, any messages exchanged about it, and the advert identifiers, from both the school's account and our systems. Two things are worth knowing:
- Removing Santua's access to the school's Page, which you can do from your own Facebook settings, stops anything new from reaching us. It does not delete what already arrived, so send the message above as well if that is what you want.
- Meta keeps its own copy of your form submission, under Meta's policies rather than ours. Deleting your data at Santua does not delete it at Meta, and we cannot do that for you.
If you left a review
Reviews are deleted the same way and on the same timetable. Write to hello@santua.ai and the review, its rating and any video come down, from the school's page and from anywhere else we publish it.
If you run a school
Closing your Santua account deletes your programmes, your contact lists and the enquiries in them. Ask at hello@santua.ai and we will export everything for you first, so you keep what is yours.
What we keep, and why
Two things survive a deletion, and we would rather say so than let you find out later. Records of payments are kept for as long as Spanish tax and accounting law requires, which the GDPR allows as a legal obligation. And when someone asks never to be contacted again, we keep the minimum needed to honour that: a one-way fingerprint of the email address or phone number, so a later import cannot accidentally write to you again. That entry holds nothing readable and is used for nothing else.
Our full privacy notice says what we collect and why. If you would rather raise this with a regulator than with us, you can complain to the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, or to the supervisory authority where you live.
